Event Highlights - 5 March 2021, 8pm

It’s very evident that there is a great demand for feel-good entertainment and the top choice is a comedy show... but not just any comedy show. ‘Let’s Joget & Goreng Together’ not only delivered, but surpassed the intended outcome expected from a limited capacity live show. Starting out with just 1, but ending up with 3 sold-out shows in record time!

Coming from a long break since the covid lockdown, Kumar’s first-ever show post-circuit breaker indeed breaks the ice. Witty, relevant, relatable, hilarious to the core! Story after story elicited a rollicking, unrestrained laughter from a 250pax audience that filled a huge concert hall.

The participation of Sam See, Qam, and Deepak added variety and punch to the show content, making it more inclusive, diverse, and relatable to many.

A live show is not enough, given the limited capacity restrictions. ‘Let’s Joget & Goreng Together ‘needs to be experienced by more people clamouring to get their fill of happy laughter in these uncertain times.

Watch out for more upcoming shows this 2021 and beyond!

Happening on Friday March 05 (8pm) and Saturday March 06 (4pm & 8pm) at the Esplanade Concert Hall, this will be Kumar’s first headline comedy show & LA Comedy Live’s first local production  since the COVID-19 shutdown.

In ‘Let's Joget & Goreng Together’, Kumar plus Singapore-based comedians Sam See, Qam, and Deepak will bring the much-needed laughter talking about our favourite pastime — Eating! Kumar will talk about Singapore food & how people consume food as there's one central theme brought by the COVID-19 Quarantine Life: Food.

About The Artists:

Kumar

Singapore’s most iconic Comedian, Kumar, needs no introduction. The famed performer rose to stardom from his cabaret nightclub acts and two decades of over-the-top performances on TV, stage and film. Kumar debuted in TV as one of the hosts of comedy chat program ‘The Ra Ra Show’ in 1993 and has been featured on various Singaporean shows since then. LA Comedy Live Founder Lauretta Alabons was the host of Rolling Good Times with Douglas Oliverio back then. Both of them were on Prime time TV in Singapore & from the pioneer batch of local artists on the English TV Network - Channel 5. It took the COVID-19 shutdown for the two former colleagues from MediaCorp's Channel 5 to plan for a comedy show this 2021.

“After Television, me & Lauretta Alabons (LA Comedy Live’s Founder) went our separate paths to fulfill our careers & Covid brought us back through Comedy. The World needs to laugh now more than ever & these shows will be a benefit to the mental wellness of Singaporeans.” - Kumar

“Our paths did cross a few times over the years but COVID brought us together to makan, talk about old times, hug & take selfies. Truth is I have always wanted to work with Kumar & it took COVID-19 to make this a reality. This will be LA Comedy Live's first local production.“ - Lauretta Alabons

Sam See

Singaporean Comedian Sam See has headlined shows internationally, in Melbourne, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Tokyo, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Germany, the Philippines, Italy and Oman. He was featured on Comedy Central Asia's Stand-Up Asia, showcasing the top twelve Asian comedians.

"★★★★ There’s real steel in his comedic bones" - BROADWAYBABY

Qam

Hailing from the Heartlands of Singapore, Qam is a comic that has been performing regularly all over the country ever since his debut in 2015. He's an act that will be impossible to miss, with his jokes and his current eating habits. Fresh from his televised comedy performance for Comedy Central Asia's Stand-Up, Asia! Season 4, Qam is a rising star in South-East Asian comedy.

Deepak

Deepak Chandran's rise in the world of stand-up comedy has been nothing short of spectacular; he's now a regular headliner across both South and Southeast Asia, as well as an established host at Comedy Masala Singapore. Deepak’s comedy is mostly observational, with a twist of politics, issues with middle class life and of course, his life as an IT engineer.
