LA COMEDY LIVE is excited to unveil that much applauded Iranian-American comedian and actor, Maz Jobrani, will come to the stage of the Shine Auditorium on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 to perform his new stand-up show ‘Peaceful Warrior’ – his first show ever in Singapore!
Known for his insightful and hilarious routine that entertained audiences world-wide, and having numerous roles in film and television, Jobrani’s show is definitely a must-see!
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maz Jobrani is a founding member of The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour, which first aired on Comedy Central. He has had multiple Showtime specials including his most recent ‘I’m Not a Terrorist, but I’ve Played One on TV’, ‘Brown and Friendly’ and ‘I Come in Peace’, as well as 2 TED talks, ‘Did You Hear the One About the Iranian-American’ and ‘A Saudi, an Indian, and an Iranian walk into a Qatari bar...’. His first original Netflix stand-up special ‘Immigrant’ was filmed at the Kennedy Center and is currently available for streaming. He has likewise performed at the White House in celebration of the Persian New Year in 2016, where he had the privilege of introducing Michelle Obama; and even performed in front of the King of Jordan.
Maz has also performed stand-up on ‘The Tonight Show’ and ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.’ Most recently, Jobrani starred as the title character in the award-winning indie comedy, ‘Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero’, a film which he co-wrote and produced. He also played the role of Jafar (from Aladdin) in the Disney movie, ‘The Descendants’. With over 50 guest star appearances, Jobrani can regularly be seen on the most popular television shows. Other film work includes Ice Cube’s Friday, After Next, and TV guest appearances include Malcolm in the Middle, Still Standing, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, Without a Trace, ER, Law & Order and Curb Your Enthusiasm and Grey’s Anatomy. He has also been featured on CNN, the BBC, The New York Times and Time Magazine. He is also a regular panellist on NPR’s ‘Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!’ On February 17th of 2015, he released his first book, ‘I’m Not a Terrorist, But I’ve Played One on TV’ (Simon and Schuster), which has been named a Los Angeles Times Best-Seller.
